as a member of the business community in Korça, I commit myself to knowing and respecting the following international principles that create the basis of this declaration:

Principles

Transparency

The functioning of a market economy presumes that each market participant conducts business with transparency, exchanging accurate information with other market participants on an efficient basis while respecting norms of confidentiality.

The Trust Between Partners in Business

In a market economy, the market functions in an optimal mode only when it is based on trust. In such an economy, where the contracts as well as oral agreements are respected, it can be spoken about an economy based on reciprocal trust. The trust between the partners helps in creating a favorable business climate for investments and development of the business.

Fair Competition

The rules of game should be the same for all the actors involved in economy. This assumes the avoidance of unfair and illegal practices of competition by implementing moral and legal principles.

Refusing Corruptive Practices

Corruption is not only a moral problem, but also an economic one. Corruption damages the normal functions of the market, as well as the economic growth in general. On the other side, corruption presents direct financial costs for business, in addition to the distortions it brings in creating an environment for fair competition.

Citizen Dimension

The business is developed in a certain community. The respect for laws and standards of protecting the environment as well as the dedication for the improvement of the community life help in the development of the business itself.

Taking into account the above principles, every signer of this declaration, declares that:

1. The adoption of a Code of Ethics of the Business for his/her company according to the principles settled down in this declaration.
2. The company should assure that its workers know and implement the Code of Ethics of their company.
3. With the signature of this declaration, the company admits that its name will be publicized in media, as along with other signatory parties.
4. The declaration is signed voluntary by the representative of the business.
