Institute for Development Research and Alternatives - (IDRA) is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-partisan independent think-tank established by a group of experienced researchers.
IDRA is an interdisciplinary public policy institute, operating both in the public and private sectors. It provides research, information and public policy and socio-economic analyses on current domestic and international issues.
IDRA’s work represents a strategic combination of research, evidence-based policy development and advisory services as well as advocacy and education-oriented delivery.
IDRA operates at the national Albanian, as well as the regional Balkan levels.
Mission
IDRA aims to promote the values of freedom and democracy, free market economy and civil society, and in doing so assisting the process of Albanian integration into the European Union.
Objectives
To formulate alternative solutions to problems that the Albanian transition is facing in the fields of economy, legislation and the EU integration process;
To encourage and assist institutional reform in Albania;
To promote private sector development in Albania;
To promote a dialogue among academic circles, civil society actors, and policy and decision makers;
To help in the process of public education and public awareness for different issues of the economic and democratic transition of Albania.
